THE SEASON by Jim Barne & Kit Buchan
Jim Barne is a composer and pop producer. He won the London Chamber Orchestra’s young composer prize, and was the runner up for last year’s Cameron Macintosh residency at the RSC. Feature film credits include Capsule (2016), The Unseen (2017) and Crooked House (2018). He works at Trinity Buoy Wharf.
Kit Buchan is a poet and journalist. His poems have appeared in Clinic, The White Review, Five Dials, Magma and The Best British Poetry. He was commended in the 2015 Poetry London competition, and nominated for the inaugural Jerwood poetry fellowship. He lives in Nottingham and writes for The Observer.
Their first show, Newfrock, was premiered at BEAM:2016 and workshopped at the Bristol Old Vic. The Season was devised at the St James’s theatre and was a spotlight showcase at BEAM:2018. Other infant projects include Jenny Moon, a feminist parlour-comedy, and Skomorokh!, the story of an itinerant circus in Siberia. They are members of BML, the MMD writers’ lab and the PRS. This is their second consecutive year in competition for both prizes.

YOU AND ME from You And Me by Adam G Wachter
Adam Wachter is a composer, lyricist, music director, and current MA Musical Theatre student at Goldsmiths. He wrote both the score and screenplay for the award-winning short film Sign, and his original musical Tarrytown won the 2017 San Diego Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Musical. Adam has created music for the films Are You Joking?, Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy, and the online series Wacky Races, The Battery’s Down and Submissions Only. His music-directing credits include the New York productions of Old Jews Telling Jokes, Carrie, Unlock’d and Yank!, as well as many other shows at regional theaters throughout the U.S. He was recently featured conducting Into the Woods on the primetime ABC television special Encore!, hosted by Kristen Bell. In London, Adam has played gigs at The Crazy Coqs at Zedel, The Vaults, Phoenix Artist Club and the Hippodrome, and his Broadway keyboard credits include War Paint, Allegiance, Finding Neverland and The Addams Family.
