Do you qualify?

If you qualify, then please apply for associateship. Use the form on the right or write to membership@mercurymusicals.com with details of which criterion or criteria you fulfil and we will let you know how to go about joining.

If you don't qualify

We welcome all musical theatre writers, wherever they are in their careers, and we recognise that writers and composers need support at every step. Therefore you can join as a writer associate in order to access the opportunities that MMD has to offer in order to advance your musical theatre career.

Freqently Asked Question

I am a professional composer/orchestrator with paid commissions, but don't fulfil the above criteria. Shouldn't I still be a Professional Writer Associate?

Musical theatre composers would all agree that there are skills which are specific to musical theatre composition, and which aren't necessarily transferable from a general professional music education. Therefore, if you haven't written musicals yet at the level implied by the criteria above, we would very much encourage you to join as a writer associate for now.
