MMD Professional Writer Associates
Criteria
To qualify to become a Professional Writer Associate of MMD, you must be one or more of the following:
- a composer / lyricist / bookwriter who has reached the showcase/performance stage of an industry recognised musical theatre workshop programme, festival or competition in the UK or overseas
- a composer / lyricist / bookwriter whose musical theatre work has been published by an established publishing company in the UK or overseas
- a composer / lyricist / bookwriter whose musical theatre work has received a professional production (London, regional, fringe or overseas)
- a playwright whose work has been published by an established publishing company in the UK or overseas
- a playwright whose work has received a professional production (London, regional, fringe or overseas)
- A graduate of a recognised musical theatre writing course in the UK or overseas. These are currently:
- Graduates of the MA in Musical Theatre (as a writer or composer), Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK
- Graduates of the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Programme, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, USA
- Alumni of the ANMT Associate Workshop in California or the equivalent at Theatre Building Chicago, USA
- Graduates of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop in New York, USA
