Have you written, or are you in the process of writing, a musical but need some creative or practical support?

Are you thinking about writing a musical but need some initial guidance?

Our Feedback and Advice service has been designed to assist you at any stage of your musical writing journey. A professional practitioner reads a piece of work and provides specific feedback on it or more general advice on your writing or the musical theatre industry. We can access leading practitioners in the world of musical theatre to help you, and this service is available to both MMD members and non-members.

Legal Advice

Several times a year, MMD members may sign up for a 30–minute meeting with an entertainment lawyer to receive advice on subjects such as contracts or intellectual property rights. These sessions are limited in number but free of charge to members. Details of the next upcoming sessions are announced on social media and in the fortnightly Friday Mail Out newsletter.

What our members say

As an Overseas Member, I particularly appreciate MMD's Feedback & Advice Service in that it allows those who can’t attend the classes and services in London to avail themselves of the very best one on one dramaturgical help on the planet… Far superior to anything I’ve found in the States. A serious playwright could do no better than to avail themselves of this service.

Vidya Makan

Composer, Lyricist

Based in Australia, Vidya's debut original musical 'The Lucky Country' written with writing partner Sonya Suares, debuted last year with Hayes Theatre. Featuring an ensemble of six exceptional performers and a five-piece band (including yidaki – didgeridoo), this 60 minute show uses elements of song cycle and chamber music, all illuminated and amplified by audiovisual design.
