Dance meets fringe theatre. Live electro-acoustic sounds, images and movements fuse in this twenty-first century exploration of the tragic chorus. Bits of the Oedipus story mix in with modern themes about mad cows, infection and redemption - it will melt in your mind!

During the last few decades innovative productions of Greek tragedy have acknowledged the leading influence of dance. Increasingly found in fringe theatres (The Gate, Soho Theatre, Camden People’s Theatre), dance-based productions propose innovative approaches to the interrelationship of performance space, sound, text and movement. Box Office 08700 600 100 (24 hours). Special offer to MMD Associates of tickets at £6 (half price), good for 6-8 May. Just ring up ticket bookings and say ‘MootheCows’.

book, music and lyrics by MMD Associate Ivo Mosley

16 – 21 Jun 2008

Two ten-minute musicals by Ivo Mosley form part of a bill of performances by Rose Bruford actor/musician students, alonside short plays by Gregory Motton and Robert Holman. In The London Women's Buskers Orchestra Meet for Rehearsal the orchestra is continually interrupted by chaos from inside and outside as a group of musicians meets to make music against the odds. In The London Women's Buskers Orchestra Meet the End of the World the whole of London is in a panic. The end of the world is quite possibly imminent, so what happens in the latest instalment of the London Women's Buskers Orchestra? Who will turn up? Have they nothing better to do? Does the world end?

A 10.30am reading of a work in progress by the team that delivered Yiff! last year. Our new show explores the friendship between a gay white boy and an Anglo-Bengali Muslim girl in the run up to her arranged betrothal and wedding. Or will there be a wedding? Heartbeat is a tale of faith, hope, and love and the triumph of these varying elements against the backdrop of tragedy, conflict and economic trials. It is a dramatic and musical journey set in modern day Nigeria that follows the decisions and pressures faced by a group of displaced teenagers as they struggle with their convictions and pursue their dreams. Heartbeat has a moving and memorable soundtrack that cuts across a range of genres (including classical, jazz and African contemporary) complementing the story’s dramatic journey and ambience.
