Each month, MMD members gather online to read and discuss the libretto of a celebrated musical – no songs, no staging, just the words on the page. Together, we explore the storytelling craft: structure, character, dialogue, tone, and how the book supports or challenges the score.

We provide the featured libretto each month so you can read ahead before joining the conversation. Our first session kicks off on Thursday 4 September with Ragtime, generously provided by MTI, and continues monthly during the first week of each month thereafter.

Each month, we’ll post a password-protected link to the chosen libretto on the Musicals Resource Hub (Resources > Book Club). Once you register via the event page below, you’ll receive an email with the password so you can access and view it.

Attendance and librettos are free for members.
