How we can amplify voices and stories from currently under-represented cultural heritages in musical theatre?

About this Event
MMD and MTN are teaming up with MMD member Rachel Victor-Sampson to curate a panel discussion on how to further diversify those on- and off-stage in new musical theatre. The panel will explore how we can amplify voices and stories from currently under-represented cultural heritages, so the art form is a better reflection of the cultural diversity of everyone in the UK.

The discussion will be chaired by Felix Cross MBE (director & composer) and the panel will include (subject to change):
Rachel Victor-Sampson (writer, producer)
John Byrne (writer for The Stage)
Allyson Devonish ( composer)
Benjamin Kwesi Burrell (Music Director for Small Island)
Julie Clare (Producer, Julie Clare Productions)
Sumerah Srivastava (Writer & Librettist for TV, Theatre and Musical Theatre)

Free to members, non-members are welcome to join us for a pay-what-you-can donation to the ongoing new musical theatre initiatives of MMD and MTN. Please register for your ticket according to your membership.
This panel will be broadcast on the MMD Youtube channel, and the link to watch will be emailed to participants on the day of the event.
