Join us for an informal interview with Fred Carl and Robert Lee, Associate Arts Professors at New York’s Tisch School of the Arts, where they co-ordinate courses in musical theatre. Fred is a composer and musical director, Robert is a lyricist, librettist and director. In the UK they’re best known for their influential work leading the annual Musical Theatre Workshops at Theatre Royal Stratford East, from 1999 to 2017, nurturing musical theatre writers from heritages under-represented in the art form, and often from artistic backgrounds outside musical theatre.
This conversation will be an opportunity to explore their international experiences nurturing and diversifying new writers of musical theatre, their approaches to musical theatre development, and their hopes for the future of the art form. Join us with your questions for Robert and Fred!
