Biography | Dominic has written and directed countless musicals. Credits include The Wizard of Oz (Rosemary Branch Theatre, London, 2002, book), Dragula (Rosemary Branch Theatre, London, 2002-3, book), Sweet FA (New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth, 2009, book, music and lyrics), Spectacular Spectacular (Cafe de Paris, London, 2009, book and lyrics), and several seasons of Christmas shows for Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, including Alice’s Adventures in Winter Wonderland (2014, book and lyrics), Peter Pan (2015, book and lyrics), Treasure Island (2016, book and lyrics), The Adventures of Robin Hood and Maid Marian: Winter in Sherwood (2017, book and lyrics) and Rapunzel (2018, book and lyrics). He is Professor of Musical Theatre at the University of Lincoln, and was co-editor of the academic journal Studies in Musical Theatre (Intellect) from 2007-2021. He has also edited or authored a number of scholarly books including The Legacy of Opera (Brill), Gestures of Music Theater (OUP), Studying Musical Theatre (Macmillan), We’ll Have Manhattan: The Early Work of Rodgers and Hart (OUP), Broadway Rhythm: Imaging the City in Song (University of Michigan Press), and Economies of Collaboration in Performance (Palgrave). Dominic speaks regularly at events and has delivered talks at places including Chichester Festival Theatre, English National Opera, Ohio Light Opera Festival, and Oxford Literary Festival. |
