Ed Bell


Ed Bell makes things for theatres and elsewhere.

With Christian Duhamel he wrote the Kleban Award-winning musical My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend which premiered at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Massachusetts in April 2017. In summer 2017 he was an Artist in Residence at Oriental DreamWorks in Shanghai. He’s worked on theatre projects in London, Edinburgh, New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles and his music has been performed all over the UK and North America.

Ed created the songwriting website The Song Foundry and produces content for the site regularly. His first book, The Art of Songwriting, was published in July 2017.

Ed is a graduate of Cambridge University and The Royal College of Music, and an alum of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop in New York City. He’s a member of ASCAP and The Dramatists Guild of America.
