Biography

David holds a 1st class honours degree in Actor Musicianship from Rose Bruford College.

In June 2019, David’s first musical ‘Life, Apparently’ debuted at Hoxton Hall. Since then he has continued to develop the piece working closely with New York AIDS activist and historian, Ron Goldberg and director Abigail Pickard Price.

Currently, David is writing ‘Paisley Beauty’, a musical based on the true story of his great-grandmother. The show blends together the sound worlds of Scottish folk song and roaring 20s swing music.

Since 2019, David has collaborated with Sam Cochrane on Scouts! The Musical as the composer and lyricist. The show was one of 41 new musicals selected to appear at BEAM Festival 2020.

David is a proud associate artist of The Bohemians Theatre Company, a Rose Bruford born group that specialise in politically driven new actor musician musicals.

His recent theatre credits include ‘The Railway Children’ (Hull Truck), ‘Cheer Up Slug’ (Live Theatre), ‘Baba Yaga’ (Theatre Hullabaloo), ‘The Prince and The Pauper (Watermill Theatre), ‘Pardoned’ (The Bohemians Theatre Co.), ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Hamlet’ (Cranked Anvil), ‘Manifesto For a New City’ (Northern Stage).
