Grace is the author of ‘Her Turn on Stage’, which discusses issues pertaining to gender and musical theatre.  She has a PhD from the University of Technology Sydney and now resides back in the UK.

Directing work includes: Associate Director on ‘War Horse’ (Australian tour), ‘West Side Story’, Guys and Dolls’ (ATG Australian tours), ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, ‘My Fair Lady’, Turk in Italy, Falstaff’ (Australian Opera), ‘Witches of Eastwick’ (Cameron Mackintosh Drury Lane), ‘Martin Guerre’ (Cameron Mackintosh/West Yorkshire Playhouse and UK tour), ‘Sunset Boulevard’ (RUG Germany and Australia).  Director: ‘Venus in Fur’, ‘Ordinary Days’, (Darlinghurst Theatre Sydney), ‘Rags’, ‘Dear World'(Australian Opera Studio)

Plays produced include: ‘Lavender Blue’ (Royal Lyceum Edinburgh) ‘Auld Lang Syne’ (Traverse Edinburgh), ‘Treasure Island’ (Pitlochry Festival Theatre), ‘Angels’ Wings” (Oran Mhor Glasgow), ‘Trumpet’ (Citizens Glasgow, Drill Hall London), ‘Zander’s Boat’ (Signature Arlington, Scotland tour).  Workshop performance of ‘The Red Priest’ (Citizens Theatre).  Previous Playwright in Residence at Byre Theatre, St Andrews.

Book writer for new musicals: ‘Another Lovely War’ (Theatre Workshop Edinburgh), ‘Crossing’ and ‘Nevermore’ (Signature Theatre, Arlington).  Currently under commission to Signature for new musical ‘The Blue Poppy’.

Previously a script reader and mentor at New Musical Australia.  Directed development workshop of ‘Melba’.  Previous scriptreader for Playbox Theatre, Melbourne, the Patrick White Award (Sydney Theatre Company).  Current script reader for the Old Vic and Playwrights Studio Scotland.

Lecturing experience includes History of the Musical, Song to Scene, Contemporary Issues in Musical Theatre, Scene Development, audition masterclass: National Institute of Dramatic Art and Federation University (Sydney), La Salle (Singapore), RSAMD (Glasgow).  Led playwriting workshops for the Playwrights Studio Scotland, Arts Trust Shetland, North Edinburgh Arts Centre, Darlinghurst Theatre (Sydney).
