It’s so difficult to fill these boxes in. Composer and lyricist, and occasional additional book writer. I like to push my own comfort zones. My main interests lie in jazz standards, and music of the 20’s and 30’s. But I like to push myself to write more contemporary music. Always looking for orchestrators to work with, and people with new ideas. I enjoy working in musical comedy, and have skill in writing humorous and tight lyrics for political/satire songs. I like exploring character through character, and also writing more extended (almost operatic) musical scenes and soliloquies. Have written upward of 50 songs in the last two years. Someone once said if you don’t then the tap on; then the water won’t flow!
