Biography | Helen is a scriptwriter, composer, director, singer and award-winning actress. Her songs (music and lyrics) have been widely performed, both in Helen’s one-woman show ‘A Funny Stage’ and with her comedy trio ‘Ladies GoDiva’ who have headlined at Zedel’s in the West End, The Pheasantry and toured Nationwide with ‘Beyond Eternity Productions’. Other writing credits include the one-woman play ‘Pulling Faces’, produced on tour, published by ‘Upstage’ and released as an audio drama. For the National Theatre Studio, she wrote the book for ‘Untitled’ (a one-woman musical for Janie Dee). Other script-writing credits include the full-cast audio dramas ‘ATA Girl’ series 1 and 2, which Helen also produced. ATA Girl was a highly commended finalist in the BBC Audio drama awards 2018. Other scripts include: ‘Doctor Who: The Primeval Design’; ‘Doctor Who: Subterfuge’; ‘Mother Tongue’; ‘Human Kind’; ‘The Effect’ (for Audible); ‘Torchwood: The Escape Room’, ‘Doctor Who: The Taste of Death’; ‘The Tomorrow People: Stemming The Tide’ and The ‘Tomorrow People: Tandem’, all with Big Finish Productions, with whom Helen also works regularly as a Director and voice actor. Helen co-wrote the book for the musical, ‘Charlie’s Angel’ at The Latchmere Theatre. Her play ‘Harmony’ was a winner in the Watermill Theatre’s writing competition ‘Raising Voices’ and she devised the cabaret ‘The Storytellers’ for Chichester Festival Theatre’s ‘Chic Cabaret’ season. She is currently co-writing a TV sitcom ‘Captured’ with Louise Jameson and an internet comedy sketch show ‘Scrolling’. As a performer, Helen has worked prolifically in theatre, TV and radio as an actor and singer for 25 years. |
