Currently writing: ‘Island’ – an original contemporary musical about a college reunion of a small group of friends held at a ‘haunted house murder-mystery’ themed weekend, on a remote island, during a storm, where a real murder has just happened, and there is a real ghost.

Recent preview showcases: MMD Open Mic at Phoenix Artist Club, with Fed Zanni (Sept 2016), Lala Barlow and Jack Neale (July 2016).  LOST Theatre and So-and-So’s Arts Club’s ‘Musical Box Festival’: ‘Dreams That Money Can Buy’ – a story of power, ambition, intrigue and revenge in the City of London financial services sector (April 2015), with a bigger follow-up workshop production, Tunbridge Wells (July 2015).
Previous productions: music only scores for: ‘Success’, Chichester Festival/National Theatre Discovery, (2010); ‘The Winter’s Tale’, directed by Phil Willmott, Hoxton Courtyard (2008); ‘The Winter’s Tale’, Trowbridge Arc (2007); ‘The Tempest’, Redhill Harlequin (2007).

Recent training: Script consultation with John Sparks, co-founder of Lehman Engel Music Theatre Workshop, BMI, New York (Sept 2016); Book, Music and Lyrics, Composers and Lyricists Group with Jason Carr and Elliot Davis, and many others – collaborators included, Paul Garred (co-founder of The Kooks), and Henry Carpenter (Jimmy Getaway, Slick Rat) (March-November 2015).

Also written: plays, short stories, novels, screenplays, film documentaries, guide books.

Earlier work: Royal Court Young People’s Theatre, including performances in Theatre Upstairs, with Max Stafford-Clark, Simon Curtis, Caryl Churchill, Hanif Kureishi, etc. (1986-8); co-wrote and -produced and MD for original musical on Edinburgh Fringe (1985); National Youth Theatre, AMD, Jeanette Cochrane (1983).
Organizations: Music Theatre Network, BASCA (British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors), The Songwriters’ Academy.
I see a lot of shows, especially anything to do with musical theatre.
