Joe Partridge


Joe is a singer, actor-musician and composer from South Devon, currently training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he studies with David Pollard for singing, with Dr Laura Bowler & Malcolm Singer for composition. Recently, Joe has made his professional London debut in Rain –  a contemporary opera by Ruth Chan at the Arcola Theatre as part of the Grimeborn Festival. Theatre credits whilst training include Fiddler on the Roof (Guildhall, dir. Martin Conor), Cosí fan tutte (Guildhall, dir. Oliver Platt), & Crazy for You (Guildhall, dir. Martin Conor). Joe has performed throughout the UK and overseas, including at the Royal Albert Hall for A Kylie Christmas (Sky Arts), A West End Christmas (Actors Church, Covent Garden), and for Katherine Jenkins’s latest album Guiding Light (Decca). Joe has also participated in workshops for the new musical Sabrina (Live at Zédel) & Mascherato (Barbican/Guildhall). 

For composition, Joe is currently developing a new musical song-cycle: If So & So What Though, which is set to premier Above the Arts Theatre London in March later this year, a taster of which recently featured in Crazy Coqs Presents (Live at Zédel) in the fall. Composition credits also include new children’s musical Mitten Hands & the MisMatch Band written in collaboration with writer Jade Greene which made its first workshop at Drama Centre in London during July. 

Masterclasses at Guildhall School have included projects with Rudolf Piernay, Sarah Walker, John Ramster and Richard Goulding, whilst Joe has also greatly enjoyed workshops with theatre companies Frantic Assembly and Mischief Theatre. Currently, Joe is working on a Barbican/Guildhall collaboration: Sane and Sound, a new opera by composer Matt Geer which will make its premiere at the Milton Court Theatre in April. Joe’s studies at the Guildhall School are generously supported by the Really Useful Group and the Guildhall School Trust.
