Biography

I am a Yorkshire musician currently writing my first show, Salt the musical.

I’ve worked in music for many years, mainly as a choral director and arranger.  In 2018 I founded the Great Yorkshire Chorus, a large contemporary choir based in Bradford. The choir has thrived and in 2022 had a successful tour to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Salt the musical is set in Victorian Bradford and follows the true story of Titus Salt, who built the biggest mill in the world. It’s a story of love, hope, grief and vision set against the backdrop of the Northern industrial revolution. The show is currently in development and we hope link it in with Bradford City of Culture 2025.

As a musician, I was originally a first study saxophonist, having studied with Richard Ingham and Sarah Markham. I have a BA in Music from the University of York and an LRSM Diploma from ABRSM in Saxophone Performance. I’m a proficient pianist and enjoy arranging vocals and writing innovative choral arrangements. I am currently being mentored in my musical theatre journey by Gus Gowland, with support from Bradford Producing Hub.
