Biography | Paul Mottram was classically trained as a violinist, pianist and composer at the Royal College of Music, Cambridge University and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Initially Paul was as on orchestrator on films such as Chaplin, Shirley Valentine and Rain Man in the early 90s and has worked since then as a composer in film & TV writing music for TV commercials, Radio 4 comedy dramas, documentaries. Recent television work includes The Shelbourne, The Big House, Bank of Dave and Kirstie’s Handmade Britain. Over 500 of Paul’s compositions are to be found in the production music libraries of Audio Network and Boosey & Hawkes (Imagem) and his music has featured on many notable films and television programmes. These include Bad Santa, The Bee Movie, Spooks, Hustle, Coast, The Restaurant, Who Do You Think You Are, QI, Dr Who, Panorama and many, many more. Having composed for the theatre in his early career, Hinkemann (Old Red Lion), Mrs Warren’s Profession (Belfast Lyric), Leben des Galilei (GSMD), Midsummer Night’s Dream (GSMD), Paul is currently working on a new musical ‘Balaclava’ with Joe Graham (bookwriter & lyricist) |
