Scott Gilmour

Biography

Scott trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and now works as an actor and writer throughout the UK. Since graduating in 2012, he has worked across a wide variety of theatre, TV & Film for companies including The National Theatre of Scotland, The Royal Lyceum, Clerkenwell Films, Théâtre du Châtelet, Dundee Rep, The Roundhouse, Chichester Festival Theatre, Channel 4 and BBC.
During his training Scott began collaborating with composer, and fellow MMD member, Claire McKenzie, with a view to create ambitious new musical theatre; they now run award-winning music theatre company Noisemaker.
Scott has worked as a bookwriter and lyricist on several shows including “FreakShow” (Roundhouse/Assembly/The Arches – Winner of the Daily Mail Edinburgh Award 2012), “Forest Boy” (Assembly/Arcola Theatre – Winner of the S&S Award for Best New Musical 2013) and most recently “The Girl Who” (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland/Theatre Bench/Noisemaker) which transfers to New York and Shanghai through 2015/16.

Scott is also an accomplished teacher and deviser and works frequently with organisations such as The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, École LeCoq, National Theatre of Scotland and Singapore School of the Arts.
