Sandra-Mae Lux

Sandra-Mae Lux

Born in the sleepy fishing village of Steveston (British Columbia, Canada), award-winning Sandra-Mae Lux was singing almost before she was walking and showed a natural ability with musical instruments even in grade school, playing piano, saxophone and guitar.

Sandra-Mae achieved a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies on Saxophone from Capilano University and has received multiple awards such as Outstanding Achievement in Music five years in a row and the Phil Nimmons Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement in Jazz.

She has twice appeared at the Ottawa Jazz Festival where she met and performed with many recognized artists such as Robert Glasper, Herbie Hancock and opened for Dave Brubeck.

Her 2020 debut album “Happily Ever Now” has made it to #14 on the UK Soul Chart, #11 on the Global Soul Chart and Lux was nominated for Best UK Artist in this year’s Bright Star Awards.

A life-long lover of 70s music, Sandra-Mae now lives in South London with lots of plants, a disco ball, and many feathered masks.
