Biography | G. Victoria Campbell (she/her) is a Seattle native, Indonesian-American female, and emerging composer-lyricist and playwright. Her debut theatrical work, TREESON: AN ECO-MUSICAL (2020), is an original new musical with an authentic, inspiring take on what it means to find purpose in life, the meaning of legacy, and the mark we want to leave behind when we depart from this world.
TREESON has been praised for its unique, fresh Americana soundscape. Industry comments include, “The score is incredibly dynamic, sophisticated and earthbound. Exceptional songwriting. An outstanding cast album!” (Joe Barros, Director of New York Theatre Barn) and “…It reminds me in some ways of HAIR…in the sense of how attractively listenable it is!” (Jack Viertel, Author of The Secret Life of the American Musical: How Broadway Shows Are Built).
Several songs from TREESON were selected for various global showcases. “Take Over” and “More” were performed by West End stars at London’s Union Theatre (Oct 2020), three songs were performed at Tin Pan Alley 2’s Concert Series (Feb 2021) and “More” will be included in the The Latest Draft podcast’s upcoming cabaret show (April 2021).
She has a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, a B.S. in Psychology and a Minor in Music. Her dual background in psychology and music have informed the themes of her art, which focus on calling and purpose, collectivism and activism. She’s currently writing music for two albums, an electro-pop-rock album and a sociopolitical folk album. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and BMI and currently resides in Zürich, Switzerland. |
