Musical Theatre Network

MTN is our partner organisation and we are funded jointly by Arts Council England as a consortium in the National Portfolio. MTN brings people and resources together to improve opportunities for new musical theatre in the UK.

BOOK, Music & Lyrics

BOOK, Music & Lyrics is the UK's only professional training programme for musical theatre writing. We work closely with BML and we are one of their annual funders. Many MMD members are part of BML and vice versa.

Birmingham Hippodrome

MMD's main base is at Birmingham Hippodrome, where we are collaborating with the New Musical Theatre Department to create a hub for new musicals in Birmingham.

Arts Council England

We receive core funding from ACE as a National Portfolio Organisation

PRS Foundation

We are a member of the PRS Foundation Talent Development Network. The Foundation primarily supports BEAM and its nationwide pitching days.

The Mackintosh Foundation

The Foundation generously funds the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Writer scheme

Music Theatre International Europe

MTI Europe generously sponsors the biennial Stiles + Drewe Mentorship Award

Jane Goodman Charitable Trust

Funding from the Jane Goodman Charitable Trust supports opportunities mostly related to championing female writers, such as the Mercury Writers Barn

Lionel Bart Foundation

Funding from the Lionel Bart Foundation supports our masterclasses and other members' events.

Coral Samuel Charitable Trust

The Trust supports our two Advanced Writers Labs which meet monthly and provide peer-to-peer support for writers.
