Mercury Musical Developments and Musical Theatre Network are awarded funding from The Mackintosh Foundation to run the the Cameron Mackintosh Resident Writer Scheme.

Through this scheme, professional musical theatre composers and writers are paired with a company, paid for a six month residency and given the opportunity to be involved in a range of work which could include writing/composing assignments on the host company’s projects, shadowing development/rehearsal processes, and working on development of their own musical theatre material.

Currently, Daisy Chute and Rebecca Brewer are the Resident Musical Theatre Writing Team at MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton, and Gus Gowland will shortly be joining the National Theatre of Scotland as their Resident Musical Theatre Composer.
