Creative Community Coordinator
We are looking for someone passionate about new musical theatre to join the team as Creative Community Coordinator. This is an exciting time of expansion for the company as we create a new base at Birmingham Hippodrome and this is a part-time Birmingham-based role.
Mercury Musical Developments (MMD) is a membership organisation dedicated to new musical theatre writing. We are a thriving community of over 400 composers, lyricists and book writers and we support our members through a range of professional development and showcasing initiatives. We co-produce BEAM, the UK’s largest showcase of new musical theatre, and the UK Musical Theatre Conference. We connect the wider theatre industry with writers and their musicals, discover talent and nurture new work, ensuring that British musical theatre has a bright future.
As the Creative Community Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for current and prospective members of MMD. You will lead on membership recruitment and retention, provide communications to members and the wider industry, create digital content, and support events and initiatives for members. You will play a vital role in maintaining and shaping the MMD membership, ensuring that we are a friendly, professional and supportive community.
This is a role ideally suited to someone who thrives on communications and problem-solving, wants to grow their professional theatre network and wants to help new musical theatre develop and flourish.
