Mercury Musical Developments is offering its members an exclusive opportunity to meet with John Sparks for a free feedback session on a new musical theatre piece. 1-to-1 sessions will take place in the MMD London offices in Victoria on 15th/16th/17th May. John can offer one-hour sessions between 10.00am and 6.00pm each day.
John was the founder/co-Director of the Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, Inc. (1979-2002) and has been the Founding Director of ANMT/NMI from 2002 to the present. He founded the Writers’ Workshop at Theatre Building Chicago in 1987 and also served TBC as Artistic Director from 1999 through 2009. John has mentored the work of over 250 musical theatre writers.

– Project Outline: The outline for your new musical with notes on the style of presentation intended: traditional, contemporary, absurdist, surrealist, etc.
– Work In Progress: A synopsis of the story and a copy of the existing script and lyrics, along with downloadable access to the score. Also, if possible, PDFs of the piano vocal score. Please entitle all Word Document or PDF files of Scripts, Synopses or Sheet Music accordingly – “JohnSparks121-YOURNAME-TITLEOFSHOW-CONTENTDESCRIPTION’ or “JohnSparks121-YOURNAME-TITLEOFSHOW-TITLEOFSONG’. – Availability: Please state your availability on all above dates so John can allocate you a slot accordingly. Please note, whilst John will try to accommodate scheduling needs, due to the first-come-first-served nature of the bookings process, this cannot be guaranteed.
1-to-1 Sessions can only be reserved by emailing John directly via the email above and slots will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. John will advise you in due course if you have successfully booked your requested slot. If not, he will add you to a waiting list in the event of any cancellations. In fairness both to John and other MMD members, once booked, please only cancel in an emergency. Thank you.
